Considered interiors, down to the smallest technical detail
Project overview
VBS Vastgoed & Ontwikkeling BV (VBSVO) uses ERGOVENT products across several high-end residential renovation and development projects, primarily in Amsterdam and Leiden.
The studio’s approach is guided by minimalism, tranquillity and attention to detail. Each element is considered as part of the finished interior, including the technical components that residents may barely notice. The aim is to create spaces that feel calm and refined without compromising everyday function.
Why clean ceiling lines matter
For VBSVO, the ceiling is an important part of the overall architectural composition. A conventional ventilation grille can become surprisingly prominent against a clean surface, drawing attention away from the materials, proportions and details below.
The studio believes that removing unnecessary visual interruptions makes a meaningful difference to the feeling of quality in an interior. Ventilation is essential, but its presence does not need to define how a room looks.
The ERGOVENT solution
VBSVO first chose ERGOVENT for the minimalist appearance of its hidden diffusers. The products can be recessed into plasterboard, plastered in and painted to match the ceiling. This allows ventilation to become part of the finished surface instead of appearing as a separate technical fitting.
Clear installation details also matter to the studio. On a renovation or development project, a design solution needs to be practical to integrate during construction as well as convincing in the completed interior.
Final result
Across VBSVO’s residential projects, ERGOVENT diffusers help preserve the clean ceiling lines that characterise the studio’s interiors. Ventilation remains present and functional, while its visual impact is reduced to a minimum.
It is a small detail within the wider project, but one that supports VBSVO’s goal: an interior where every element feels considered and the technical requirements sit comfortably within the architecture.
“True minimalism is in the details. ERGOVENT allows us to integrate ventilation into the architecture rather than interrupting it, which is exactly what we want to achieve in our interiors.”
